Most adults have a full range of experiences and problem-solving skills to assist in negotiating life's challenges.
Sometimes, despite our efforts, we feel unable to make sense of a personal difficulty or recover from a painful experience.
Working with a registered psychologist provides you with a skilled professional who can help you address your difficulties these issues.
Short term therapy is a process of collaboration between patient and therapist to address current, specific difficulties which are essentially discrete in nature (such as relationship concerns, insomnia, workplace problems, an episode of conflict, stress management, etc). These appointments may occur weekly to 3 weekly for up to 4 months.
Longer Psychotherapy is a process of weekly therapy to address prolonged personal emotional and developmental difficulties (such as low self-esteem, depression, chronic mood difficulties, interpersonal difficulties, distress relating to family of origin). This deeper work focuses on exploring and understanding aspects of self and current or historical life experiences. A weekly appointment time may be offered and this time will be kept specifically for you.
After initial assessment sessions, I will discuss my treatment recommendations with you.
A GP referral is required to make an appointment.
Appointments are for 50 minutes. Appointments start on time, so it is important you arrive promptly to gain the most from this work. Assessment sessions will occur via telehealth (zoom) and face to face appointments may then be offered.
Your GP referral needs to be faxed to us before your first appointment. Following a review of your GP referral and initial assessment sessions, a discussion about treatment recommendations will be offered.
By proceeding with booking a therapy appointment, you are agreeing to abide by our cancellation policy.
We take your privacy and confidentiality seriously. It is important for us that you know exactly how your privacy and confidentiality is treated.
Please read our Terms of Service for more.
Appointments are now being offered via telehealth (zoom) and some face-to-face appointments are available. For face-to-face appointments, we are maintaining strict hygiene standards in full compliance with our COVID 19 Plan.
